Filming
Originally scheduled to begin in March 2020 in Vancouver and Los Angeles, filming for “Snow White” was postponed to July 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. By August 2021, production plans had relocated to the United Kingdom, with shooting scheduled from March to July 2022. Principal photography officially commenced on March 7, 2022, at Pinewood Studios.
However, a setback occurred on March 15 when a fire damaged the set, impacting the production stage still under construction. Fortunately, filming had not yet started, as confirmed by Disney sources. The shooting schedule was subsequently adjusted to accommodate Rachel Zegler’s commitment to attend the 94th Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on March 27, where she supported her “West Side Story” colleagues.
Meanwhile, Gal Gadot began filming her scenes as the Evil Queen during this period. In a podcast interview with Forbes, Gadot disclosed that her character would sing and dance in the film, a departure from the original storyline. By April 22, 2022, Gadot had wrapped up her filming, describing her experience playing Disney’s inaugural villain as “fun and delicious,” particularly enjoying the vocal transformation required for the musical adaptation.
