“Singham Again” is an anticipated Indian Hindi-language action film helmed by Rohit Shetty, who co-produced it under his banner Rohit Shetty Picturez alongside Reliance Entertainment, Jio Studios, and Devgn Films. Cast
The cast of “Singham Again” includes Ajay Devgn portraying DCP Bajirao Singham, Kareena Kapoor Khan as Avni Kamat Singham, Bajirao’s wife, and Akshay Kumar in the role of DCP Veer Sooryavanshi. Ranveer Singh stars as ACP Sangram “Simmba” Bhalerao, while Deepika Padukone appears as Shakti Shetty. Tiger Shroff plays ACP Satya, with Arjun Kapoor taking on the character Danger Lanka. Jackie Shroff portrays Omar Hafeez, and Dayanand Shetty features as Senior Inspector Daya. Additionally, Shweta Tiwari appears as Shruti Bakshi, and Siddhartha Jadhav is seen as Inspector Santhosh Tawad in the ensemble cast of the film.
Production
In September 2017, Rohit Shetty announced his next directorial project with Ranveer Singh and disclosed plans for a third installment in the Singham film franchise. He confirmed Ajay Devgn’s return but did not specify the production start date. By January 2020, Devgn hinted at progress on the third film, tentatively titled Singham 3. In March of the same year, Akshay Kumar, known for his role in Shetty’s Sooryavanshi (2021) within the Cop Universe, was reported to reprise his character. In January 2021, production plans were slated to follow Shetty’s completion of Cirkus in 2022, with Jackie Shroff cast as the main antagonist. Ranveer Singh’s return as Simmba was also confirmed in November 2021.
On December 1, 2022, production houses announced the collaboration between Shetty and Devgn, unveiling the official title as Singham Again. Production was scheduled to commence after Devgn wrapped up Bholaa.
Filming
Principal photography for “Singham Again” commenced on 16 September 2023 with a muhuratam puja held at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai, marking the beginning of the first schedule. Ranveer Singh and Shweta Tiwari were among the early participants in this phase, with Kareena Kapoor joining the sets on 23 September.
The second schedule kicked off on 5 October in Hyderabad, focusing on high-action sequences, including the climactic scenes, with the entire ensemble cast involved. Kareena Kapoor joined the Hyderabad schedule on 6 October. Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor also participated, with Akshay Kumar completing his portions by 15 October and Ranveer Singh wrapping up on 20 October. The second schedule concluded on 7 November.
Filming resumed on 19 November at Madh Island for an action scene set at a fair, involving a large crowd of over 100 actors. Towards the end of November, an elaborate action sequence was filmed at the Golden Tobacco Factory in Vile Parle, featuring Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh amidst a crowd of 150-200 people and including car explosions. Devgn sustained an eye injury during this shoot.
The production then moved to Film City, where sequences including a fight scene set in the backdrop of an Ashram were filmed. Kareena Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor also participated in night shoots during this phase.
In January, filming resumed at Ramoji Film City, excluding Ajay Devgn who was still recovering. Arjun Dwivedi joined the cast, reprising his role from the Cop Universe series Indian Police Force.
Throughout February 2024, Tiger Shroff completed his scenes at Film City. The first week of March saw a fight sequence filmed at Byculla involving Ajay Devgn, Dayanand Shetty, and Shweta Tiwari. Subsequently, filming moved to Richardson & Cruddas Mill. In the third week of March, scenes were shot at a temple in Wai featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor.
By the third week of April 2024, Akshay Kumar wrapped up his remaining portions at Ramoji Film City. Deepika Padukone filmed her scenes at the Golden Tobacco Factory in Vile Parle. Some additional scenes of the film were shot in the picturesque Kashmir Valley in May 2024.
