Around 4:15 p.m., Memphis police responded to reports of gunshots outside the restaurant. Two men were shot, with Anthony “Big Jook” Mims was rushed to St. Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Another individual, critically injured, was airlifted to Regional One Health in Memphis. Both victims had been at the restaurant for a repast service after the funeral.
Police Investigation:
Memphis Deputy Police Chief Paul Wright stated that the shooting appeared to be a targeted attack, but no suspects have been identified, and no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing, and connections to the rapper Yo Gotti have not been established.
